Spear & Jackson 1180PF/INS12 INS Polyfibre Treaded Digging Spade

The Spear & Jackson Insulated Digging Spade features a one piece polyfibre shaft which is oil, chemical and water resistant for strength and durability, finished with an integral D-grip handle with a 112mm opening. The solid forged carbon/manganese steel head is heat treated and tempered for maximum strength and a longer product life, and also features round bar treads for comfort during use. WHEN THE OUTER ORANGE SHEATH ABRADES TO THE EXTENT THAT THE INNER WHITE SLEEVE IS VISABLE, THE TOOL SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM USE AROUND LIVE WORKING CONDITIONS. Each tool is marked with the BS8020:2011 mark a unique reference number for traceability and certified, guaranteeing full conformity to live-working specifications. Tested to 10,000 Volts A.C. Rated working voltages at 1,000 Volts A.C and 1,500 Volts D.C. Testing consists of submerging the product for 24 hours in water then wiping it dry, two electrodes are then attached and a voltage of 10,000 Volts A.C applied continuously for 3 minutes. All of the Spear & Jackson range of insulated tools are manufactured and supplied in accordance with British Standard number BS8020:2011. This exacting standard was introduced to ensure the best possible protection from potential harm when working in close proximity to live conductor cables. This product is considered to comply with the British Standard only if no electric breakdown occurred and the leakage current did not exceed 1mA specified.
