In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, Benlee was a big name. Famous boxers fought with: "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, three successive heavyweight champions, all were in the ring wearing Benlee boxing gloves and Benlee sports pants. Other champions like Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson also wore Benlee. Benlee began producing boxing equipment in the 30s, but withdrew from business in the 60s. Punch GmbH wants to revive the tradition and in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer of all time who died in 1969, she attached his name to "his" brand: BenleeRockyMarciano.
